Homebrew Competition

Home is where the brewkit is.

Like many other brewery start-ups, my journey started with homebrewing. To celebrate Bríd’s Cross’ second birthday I am organising a competition for homebrewers. I am delighted that Matt Curtis has agreed to join me on the judging panel, along with Ben Boothman of the Lancashire Hospitality Group.

There is a slight twist to this competition compared to most. Brewers will be asked to name their beer with a folktale theme and this will be included, with a modest weighting, in the scoring system.

What’s on Offer

  • The winning homebrewer will get the chance to come and brew their beer on a 6 barrel kit ready to be launched at our Second Birthday Bash (Friday 22nd August at The Baum, Rochdale).
  • The winning brewer will also receive a T-shirt featuring the pump clip artwork for their beer and a case of beer, possibly including their own, depending on canning schedules.
  • Finalists will receive judging feedback on their beer.
  • Everyone who submits a beer will receive a discount code for our webshop.
