Dead Moon

The Moon shone down on the Carrs of Lincolnshire, throwing her beautiful light as far as the eye could see. But there is a deep dark and scary secret of the Carrs, where Boggarts, Witches and all fae folk roam, causing havoc on the locals. The Moon was curious as she couldn’t see anything amiss as her light weaved amongst the trees and reeds. One fateful day, the Moon descended to the Carrs and was soon regretting her decision. The fae folk tricked the Moon and held her deep down into the dark waters. They placed a stone atop her so she could not escape. Her light dimmed and slowly faded.

The Boggarts, Witches and demons rejoiced as they tore into the village. People ran and screamed under the howls and scratches at their doors. One villager plucked up the courage and spoke to his kin. He had seen a light vanish in the Carrs and persuaded the others to come help find the light. The village wise woman told the villagers of the signs they need to look for on their quest.

Heeding her wise words, they came upon a stone; there was a slither of light beyond the darkness. The brave villager lifted the stone and the Moon leaped from her prison. Her light enveloped the Carrs and the fae folk ran, some exploded into ash with one last cry. Within seconds the Moon ascended to the skies and her light fell upon the calm of the Carrs once more.
