Permanent Lines

currently pouring.

Standing in my kitchen back in the day, the home brew experiments flowing, the idea of commercial brewing was still a distant dream. Drinking my first beer bought over the bar was an exciting milestone. However, landing not just one, but two permanent lines in my first year of professional brewing is something that I am, justifiably – I think, very proud of.

Of the many great pubs in Rochdale, The Baum is one that I am particularly fond of. I was delighted that they took my first cask beer, and have continued to buy from me regularly since then. Discussions about our First Birthday Bash, and the success of my Baum Rabbit pale ale, named after a legend on the pub’s doorstep, led to a permanent cask line at the Baum.

We stumbled upon The Red Lion after a sunny Sunday walk over Clegg Moor. Enjoying our visit we spoke with the cellar manager. One thing led to another and before long our Ash and Elm keg was ordered. Repeat orders led to it becoming a permanent fixture, along with regular orders of our cask ales, including Black Shuck, and Andraste’s Hare.

This pub is also a regular haunt of one of Ruth’s colleagues and we had a pleasant evening after one of our markets, putting the world to rights over a few of our beers. Bríd’s Cross beers are now affectionately known as ‘Ruth’s beers’ in the Red Lion Littleborough, and I’m not (maybe slightly) upset about that, haha.
