Brew Kit

‘New to me’ kit.

If you’re already following us on our socials (Twitter (X), Instagram), you will already know we took possession of some brew kit on Wednesday.

Originally, I had intended to put off buying my own brew kit until I had established a track record of selling contract brewed beer – a reflection of my risk avoiding personality. This has all taken longer than expected for various reasons.

Then, a couple of weeks ago, a good friend pointed out to me that Thirst Class Ale, was selling their brew kit. I arranged a short trip to Stockport to look at the kit and talk to Richard, took a few days to think it over, and eventually decided that it was too good an opportunity to miss.

There are still several hoops to jump through before I can start brewing on my ‘new to me’ kit. The original plan was to use my unit for storage of beer produced elsewhere, and now, ahead of schedule, I am in the process of seeking change of use planning permission. Hopefully, that will be possible.

In the meantime, contract brewing will be continuing. We will be packaging some beer into kegs and cans at Tin Head this week, and we are in negotiations with another brewery to increase our contract brewing options. Further details will be announced as soon as possible – including letting you know when the web shop is open for business. Watch this space!
