Bolster was a legendary giant who lived on the north Cornish coast near Chapel Porth. He was a vicious monster, who would eat any sheep, cattle, or even unsuspecting people, that he could get his hands on!
Many a local knight tried, and failed, to rid the countryside of this villain.
It was a bright and sunny day in Spring when Bolster saw a young woman named Agnes and was immediately infatuated with her.
Agnes asked the giant to fill a nearby hole in the clifftop with his blood, in order to prove his love for her.
Bolster immediately agreed, not realising that the hole actually led all the way down to the sea.
Agnes’ victory over the giant is commemorated in the festival of Bolster Day at the village of St Agnes on the last Sunday before May Day.

Red IPA
Bolster’s Blood is a delicious Red IPA. There is a powerful tropical fruit aroma up front, a hint of toffee from the malt, and a resinous bitter finish, which draws you back in for more.
